Dan Gallagher Named Deputy Director In Division Of Trading And Markets - Gallagher To Join Director Sirri, Deputy Director Colby As Part Of Division's Senior Management Team
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that Daniel M. Gallagher has been named a Deputy Director in the agency's Division of Trading and Markets. Mr. Gallagher will join the Trading and Markets senior management team of Deputy Director Robert Colby and Director Erik Sirri.

SEC Charges Microtune And Former Officers For Stock Option Backdating And Other Fraudulent Conduct
The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged Microtune, Inc. and two former senior officers for perpetrating a fraudulent and deceptive stock option backdating scheme that awarded themselves and other employees millions of dollars in undisclosed compensation. The backdating scheme caused the Plano, Texas-based technology company to file false and misleading financial statements.

CBOE'S Average Daily Volume In June Rises 39% - 4.9 Million Contracts Per Day, Total Volume - 103.3 Million Contracts During June - Trading In Equity Options Gains 45%, ETF Options 61% Over June 2007
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that average daily trading volume in June totaled 4.9 million contracts per day, up 39 percent when compared to more than 3.5 million contracts per day during June 2007.Total exchange volume during June rose 39 percent to 103.3 million contracts, up from June 2007 volume of 74.4 million contracts.
